<br>Bitcoins value can be volatile when compared to more established currencies and commodities. This can be attributed to its relatively small market size, and it means that a smaller amount of money can move the Bitcoin price more significantly. This discrepancy will decrease naturally over time as the currency matures and the market size increases.

Investing.com - Six months after banning all cryptocurrency related advertising, Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) is refining its policy to allow some pre-approved ads.In a statement , the company said it looked at the best way to "refine the policy" and decided to allow some ads, but ensure they are safe. The new policy went into effect June 26, and requires advertisers to submit an application, which will allow Facebook to determine their suitability. The original ban remains in place for ICOs and binary options, which in some cases have been linked to fraud.Facebook says its goal remains the same. And that's to prohibit ads that promote financial products and services associated with "misleading or deceptive promotional practices."Google (NASDAQ:GOOGL), Twitter and Mailchimp followed Facebook in imposing bans on all crypto-related ads.

Investing.com - What's a cryptocurrency investor to do?It's one thing when a traditional investor like Warren Buffett calls out the perils of digital currencies, but quite another when it is a major player in the industry doing it.It happened not once but twice,Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin posted on Twitter that cryptocurrencies could "drop to near-zero at any time."Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse told a tech conference that "most" digital currencies will eventually lose their value. Ethereum and Ripple are the second and third largest cryptocurrencies based on market capitalization. Both men also acknowledged the volatility of cryptocurrencies, though neither actually said investors should not invest in them. The comments coincide with a S&P Global Ratings report concluding that retail investors would "bear the brunt" of any cryptocurrency market collapse.

Mana, a little-known cryptocurrency used for buying and selling virtual land, saw its price spike over the weekend amid excitement over Facebook’s ($FB@US) rebrand. The price of mana hit an all-time high of $4.16 on Saturday evening, up from 400% from where it was trading shortly after Facebook announced it was changing its name to Meta. It has fallen since, having last changed hands at around $3.16 Launched in 2017, mana is the native digital token on Decentraland, a self-proclaimed metaverse platform where users can buy and sell virtual property. Ownership of the land is purchased through nonfungible tokens, a type of digital asset meant to track who owns what. It runs on Ethereum, the blockchain network behind ether, the world’s second-largest digital currency. Mana and other metaverse-focused cryptocurrencies were rallying on the backside of Facebook’s rebrand, which is being seen as a sign of growing acceptance of the metaverse trend. Other cryptos, including the tokens of blockchain-based games Axie Infinity and The Sandbox, have also seen solid gains in the past few days.
