Berlin Debates

In 1987 former US President Ronald Reagan made his famous statement in Berlin, calling on the Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin wall. Many conservatives in Germany, including Chancellor Angela Merkel, would like to honor Reagan by naming a square in the capital after him. But Berlin's district councils are blocking the proposal.
